New Mexico Community Partnerships

Heritage Hotels & Resorts Supporting Cultural Causes

When you stay at Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town, you make a difference. For more than a decade, we have prioritized supporting cultural and artistic ventures by featuring design, custom artwork, décor and cuisine created by our Albuquerque community.

Our support includes:
  • Community partnerships and involvement
  • Cultural programs and events
  • Various organizations, non-profits and scholarship programs
Past efforts include:
  • Helping San Felipe de Neri church in Historic Old Town build a new alter screen for their chapel, which was expanded to support their growing congregation.
  • Supporting cultural and artistic preservation and advancement by donating a portion of our revenue from each night’s stay at Hotel Albuquerque to the National Institute of Flamenco.

About the National Institute of Flamenco

Founded by the Encinias family in 1987, the National Institute of Flamenco (NIF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting world-class flamenco. Each year, the Institute serves over 1,000 students through educational initiatives and reaches an audience of 100,000 through performance outreach.

Master instructors and performers flock to Albuquerque each year to NIF's Festival Flamenco and the Artist-in-Residence Program. Students ages 3-80 study year-round at the Conservatory of Flamenco Arts, where professional artists perform and train with Yjastros: The American Flamenco Repertory Company. Through its synergistic programs and collaborations with public and higher education, National Institute of Flamenco has truly created the most vibrant center for flamenco in the Western world.

In December of 2013, National Institute of Flamenco's home of 15 years in downtown Albuquerque was destroyed in a tragic fire. While the loss was devastating for our community, we are excited to rebuild a landmark center for flamenco education, and begin a new chapter of flamenco in New Mexico.
